Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 10/16/2026

Wiser Health (“Wiser Health,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Avicenna Technologies Inc. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information when you use the Wiser Health mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using Wiser Health, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.

About the new version of the app. Some features described below are part of a new version of the Wiser Health app that is currently available only to a limited group of testers: Health Connect, phone step counting, voice input, AI-enhanced answers in Ask Wiser, the Wellness Insight Report and Wellness Action Plan, links you can share with a provider, a trusted support contact, a profile photo, and Premium purchases where offered. They apply to you only if you use that version and choose to use them. The 4-Week Wellness Report & Plan described in section 10A.3(c) is not yet available to anyone; it is planned for a later update.

1. Scope of This Policy

1.1 This Privacy Policy applies to personal information and other information collected through Wiser Health’s website, mobile application, and related digital services.

1.2 Wiser Health is designed for general wellness, educational, lifestyle support, and habit-tracking purposes only. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, or access to medical records.

2. Intended Audience

2.1 Wiser Health is primarily designed for adult users.

2.2 Some educational and general wellness content may be suitable for a broader audience, but Wiser Health is not specifically directed to children.

2.3 We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner that would require parental consent under applicable law. If a parent or guardian believes that a child has submitted personal information, they may contact us to request review or deletion.

3. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

Information you may choose to provide includes:

(a) Preferred name or display name, used to personalize your experience;
(b) Email address
(c) Account-related information, such as login credentials or settings;
(d) Support communications, including messages you send to us;
(e) Preferences and app settings you choose within the Services;
(f) Consent acknowledgements, such as confirmation that you reviewed and accepted applicable terms, privacy disclosures, and disclaimers;
(g) Body details you choose to enter (height and weight), used to show your BMI indicator in the app;
(h) a trusted support contact you choose to save in the new version of the app: their name, phone number and optional email, and how you prefer to reach them. Only you contact them — the app opens your own phone or messaging app — and Wiser Health never contacts them or sends them any of your wellness information.

3.2 Wellness and Lifestyle Information

If you choose to use Wiser Health’s tracking and reflection features, we may collect self-reported, non-clinical wellness and lifestyle information, such as:

(a) meal and nutrition logs;
(b) beverage logs, including non-water beverages and self-entered drink categories;
(c) water intake and hydration tracking;
(d) activity, movement, or general wellness habit entries;
(e) sleep-related check-ins or restorative sleep habits;
(f) stress, reflection, or lifestyle pattern entries;
(g) self-reported routines, wellness goals, and preferences;
(h) optional notes or responses entered by you within the app;
(i) daily check-in answers, such as how you rate your mood, energy, stress, movement and social connection;
(j) your answers to the short questions asked when you create an account (for example, how active you are most days or how you would rate your sleep).

3.3 Steps and Sleep From Your Device (optional, new version of the app)

If you choose to turn them on, the new version of the app can record:

(a) Steps counted by your phone: the daily step total from your phone’s built-in motion sensor. Nothing is read until you turn this on, and you can turn it off at any time.
(b) Health Connect (Android): if you connect Health Connect, we read your daily step totals and sleep sessions (when each started and ended, and time awake when the app that recorded it reports that), and — only if you separately allow them — your weight measurements and estimated active calories. We read only the most recent 7 days, when you open the app or tap Sync now. Wiser Health never writes to, changes or deletes anything in Health Connect. Imported values are labelled “From Health Connect”, and where you entered your own value for a day, your own value is used; the two are never added together.

Wiser Health does not currently connect to Apple Health (HealthKit).

When you disconnect Health Connect in the app, you choose whether to keep or delete the data already imported; your own entries stay either way. Wiser Health’s use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3.4 Profile Photo and Voice Input (new version of the app)

(a) Profile photo: if you choose a profile photo, it is stored only on your phone. It is not uploaded to Wiser Health.
(b) Voice input in Quick Log: if you tap the microphone, speech recognition is done by your phone’s speech service. Depending on your phone and settings, audio may be processed on your device or sent to Google or Apple. Wiser Health does not receive or store any audio; only the text you review and confirm is saved.

3.5 Purchases (new version of the app)

If you subscribe to Wiser Health Premium, payment is handled by the app store you use (for example, Google Play). We do not receive your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription service, to confirm whether your subscription is active; it receives your Wiser Health account identifier and purchase details from the store, but not your wellness information.

3.6 Technical and Usage Information

We may automatically collect limited technical and usage-related information, such as:

(a) app usage information, including feature interactions;
(b) device type, operating system, and app version;
(c) crash reports, diagnostics, and performance data (where crash reporting is turned on in the app, we use Sentry; your name, email, account identifier, notes and wellness entries are removed from reports before they are sent);
(d) general analytics data used to improve usability, reliability, and user experience.

4. Important Clarification About Health Information

4.1 Wiser Health is a wellness and lifestyle support platform, not a healthcare provider.

4.2 Information you enter into the app is intended to support personal awareness, reflection, habit tracking, and educational experiences.

4.3 Wiser Health does not collect medical records through its standard consumer wellness features, and it does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services.

4.4 However, some self-reported information entered by users may relate to wellness habits, routines, or lifestyle patterns. We handle such information with care and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

5. Information We Do Not Collect in the Current Version

Unless clearly stated otherwise and separately disclosed, the current version of Wiser Health does not intentionally collect:

(a) precise location data;
(b) voice recordings;
(c) contacts from your device;
(d) camera roll or photo library content (a profile photo you choose stays on your phone, as described in section 3.4);
(e) wearable, biometric, or medical device data, other than the optional steps, sleep, weight and estimated active calories described in section 3.3;
(f) medical charts or clinical records.

If we add any of these features in future versions, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, seek additional consent.

6. How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

6.1 provide, operate, and maintain the Services;

6.2 personalize your experience within Wiser Health;

6.3 support habit tracking, wellness reflections, and app-based summaries;

6.4 improve app usability, design, performance, reliability, and feature quality;

6.5 respond to support requests, inquiries, or feedback;

6.6 enable account-related functions, including password recovery where applicable;

6.7 process and verify account or data deletion requests;

6.8 monitor service integrity, security, and fraud prevention;

6.9 comply with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations;

6.10 if you consent, prepare AI-enhanced answers and AI-assisted wellness reports and plans, as described in section 10A.

7. Email Address Use

7.1 If you provide an email address, we may use it for limited account-related purposes, including:

(a) password recovery;
(b) account verification, where needed;
(c) responding to support requests;
(d) handling account or data deletion requests initiated by you;
(e) service-related notices where necessary;
(f) if you turn it on, a short notice that a report is ready. That email contains no report, scores or wellness details.

7.2 We do not sell your email address.

8. Legal Basis and Consent

8.1 By using Wiser Health and voluntarily entering information into the Services, you consent to the collection and use of that information as described in this Privacy Policy, subject to applicable law.

8.2 Certain features may also rely on your express acknowledgement of:

  • our Terms of Use,
  • this Privacy Policy,
  • and our wellness / medical disclaimer.

8.3 You may choose not to provide certain information, but some features may then be limited or unavailable.

9. Data Sharing and Disclosure

9.1 We do not sell personal information.

9.2 We may disclose limited information only in the following circumstances:

(a) Service providers: to trusted vendors who help us operate, host, secure, analyze, or support the Services, including the AI service described in section 10A when you have consented to it;
(b) Legal compliance: where required by law, court order, regulation, or lawful authority;
(c) Protection of rights and safety: where necessary to protect our rights, users, systems, or the public;
(d) Business transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate protections where required;
(e) People you choose to share with (new version of the app): you can create a link to a summary of the categories and date range you select, for a provider you choose, and send it yourself. Anyone who has the link can view that summary, without an account, until it expires or you revoke it, so share it only with the person you intend. Attempts to open the link are recorded in your access log. The providers listed in the app have not yet been verified.

9.3 Any service providers engaged by us are expected to handle information securely and only for authorized purposes.

10. Third-Party Services

10.1 Wiser Health may rely on third-party tools or providers for hosting, analytics, app infrastructure, communications, or support functions.

10.2 These third parties may process limited information on our behalf in accordance with their contractual obligations and applicable privacy standards.

10.3 This Privacy Policy does not govern the privacy practices of third-party services you access outside Wiser Health. You should review their policies separately where relevant.

10.4 Your Wiser Health account data is stored with our hosting provider in Canada.

10A. AI-Assisted Wellness Features

10A.1 The AI service. Some optional features use a third-party AI service to draft wellness text. The AI service we currently use is OpenAI (United States). We use it as a service provider, through its API. If we change provider, we will update this Privacy Policy and ask for your consent again in the app before using the new provider.

10A.2 Only with your consent. Nothing is sent to the AI service unless you turn on AI wellness guidance in the app, and for reports and plans also AI-assisted reports. In the app, the details of each consent say what is sent, that the AI service is OpenAI, and how long it may be kept. You can turn either off at any time in Privacy & consent.

10A.3 What is sent. We send summaries prepared by Wiser Health, not your raw records:

(a) AI-enhanced answers in Ask Wiser: your question, with identifiers we can detect removed (your name and email, and anything that looks like a phone number, postal code, link or long number), a general topic label, how many days you checked in during the last week, and relevant excerpts from Wiser Health’s own educational content;
(b) Wellness Insight Report and Wellness Action Plan (new version of the app): your lifestyle-area scores, how many days you logged each area, activity minutes, your goals, and — for the plan — the focus areas from your latest report;
(c) 4-Week Wellness Report & Plan (not yet available): a summary of the last 28 days — how many days you logged meals, water, activity, sleep, stress relief, social contact, alcohol and smoking; averages such as activity minutes, glasses of water and sleep hours; how often you chose each answer in your daily check-ins and sleep-quality ratings; steps and sleep from Health Connect if you connected it, and steps counted by your phone if you turned that on; your goals; and your answers to the sign-up questions. This report will be prepared only for people who have accepted the updated AI-assisted reports consent in the app.

10A.4 What is never sent: your name, email, phone number or address; exact dates; your written notes; food names; photos; weight, height or BMI; pain and symptom answers; weight, active calories or any other Health Connect data apart from steps and sleep; your location; or anyone you share information with or name as a trusted contact. We describe this as de-identification, not anonymity: we remove the identifiers we can, but we do not claim a summary could never be linked to you.

10A.5 Purpose. The summary is used only to draft your answer, report or plan. It is not used for advertising. Under OpenAI’s API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI’s models.

10A.6 Retention by the AI service. We ask OpenAI not to store responses for later use. Under OpenAI’s standard API policy, requests and responses may be kept for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and then deleted. This is not zero data retention.

10A.7 Where it is processed. Your account data is stored in Canada. The AI service processes the summaries outside Canada, including in the United States. We cannot guarantee that AI processing happens only in Canada.

10A.8 What we keep. Finished reports and plans are checked against your own figures before they are saved, and are stored in your Wiser Health account until you delete your account. They are wellness information only — not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

10A.9 Withdrawing consent. If you turn off AI-assisted reports or AI wellness guidance, nothing further is sent to the AI service for that feature. Summaries already sent cannot be recalled, and are deleted by the AI service under its retention policy above. Reports you already have stay in your account until you delete your account.

11. Data Security

11.1 We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to help protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

11.2 Despite our efforts, no system, platform, or method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data Retention

12.1 We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
(a) provide the Services;
(b) maintain account functionality;
(c) respond to user requests;
(d) comply with legal, accounting, or operational requirements;
(e) protect our legitimate business interests.

12.2 Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.

12.3 Generated wellness reports and plans are kept in your account until you delete your account. Summaries sent to the AI service are kept by that service as described in section 10A.6.

12.4 When you delete your account, we keep a pseudonymised record of the consents you gave, so that we can show what was agreed to and when.

13. Account and Data Deletion

13.1 You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to applicable legal or operational retention requirements.

13.2 In the new version of the app, you can also delete your account yourself from your Profile. Deleting your account deletes your records, imported Health Connect data and generated reports from your Wiser Health account; it does not recall summaries already sent to the AI service (see section 10A.9).

14. Your Rights

14.1 request deletion of your account or personal information;

14.2 withdraw any optional consent at any time in the app’s Privacy & consent screen, including AI wellness guidance, AI-assisted reports, Health Connect and phone step counting;

15. Children’s Privacy

15.1 Wiser Health does not knowingly target children under 13 with data-intensive features or knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

15.2 If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected inappropriately, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

16.1 We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

16.2 If we make changes, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last Updated” date.

16.3 Where appropriate, we may also provide additional notice through the app or website.
